B&D Garage Doors in Perth — Repairs, Panels and Replacement

B&D has been making garage doors in Australia longer than most of the streets we work in have existed, and volume builders across Perth have fitted them as standard for decades. Walk a road in Morley or Cannington and the Roll-A-Door curtain is the default; walk a newer estate in Ellenbrook or Baldivis and it is more often a Panelift sectional. Both are ours to work on, and both fail in fairly predictable ways once they pass the ten-year mark.

What we see most is a spring that has lost tension. A roller door's spring lives inside the drum and does the lifting the motor gets credit for; when it weakens, the opener starts dragging the full weight of the curtain and the door becomes heavy, slow and noisy long before anything actually breaks. On a Panelift it is the torsion spring above the opening doing the same job, and the warning signs are the same — a door that stops half way, or one that slams the last foot down.

The other half of the work is damage rather than wear. A reversing car, a windy afternoon with the door half open, a curtain that has come out of its guide: all common, all repairable more often than people expect. We will tell you plainly when a panel can be replaced and when a door has taken enough of a hit that a new one is the cheaper answer over the next five years.
