B&D
B&D garage door openers are repaired, re-coded and replaced across Perth by our technicians. Because B&D supplies the opener with the door, the Controll-A-Door is usually the same age as the Roll-A-Door or Panelift under it — so the first thing we check is whether the motor is failing or simply hauling a door whose springs went soft years ago.

B&D is one of the few brands in this cluster that makes both halves: the door and the motor that runs it. That is why a Controll-A-Door unit is so often exactly as old as the door it sits above, and why the two problems tend to arrive together. A fifteen-year-old Panelift with a fifteen-year-old opener is not two coincidences.
It also means the fault is frequently misdiagnosed by the homeowner. The motor is the noisy, visible thing, so it takes the blame — but if the door's springs have lost tension, the opener has been lifting weight it was never rated for, and the gears and board are wearing out as a consequence rather than a cause. Replacing the motor without fixing the door just restarts the clock.
Where the opener genuinely is the problem, it is usually the ordinary list: a gear kit, a capacitor, a travel limit that has drifted, a safety beam knocked out of line, or remotes that have lost their pairing. Those are ordinary repairs on a unit that is otherwise sound.

Most call-outs end in a repair. Here is how we decide — and what we would say if it were our own garage.
We fit belt-drive openers with soft start and stop, a safety reverse and phone control, matched to the weight and type of your door rather than to whatever is nearest to hand. The old unit goes with us, and the technician who quotes it is the one who fits it.
A motor is only ever as good as the door under it, so the springs and balance get checked and set before the new opener is trusted with the weight.

Half the time the motor is the symptom and the door is the cause. We check both before quoting either.
