Is Superlift an Australian brand?

It is a Western Australian one. Superlift has been headquartered here and supplying openers for over 30 years, which is the main practical reason we recommend it: parts and remotes come from locally rather than an interstate or overseas supply chain, and older units stay supportable for longer.

My Superlift stops before the door is fully open. Why?

Almost always the travel limits have drifted, which happens gradually as a door and its springs age. It is a setting, not a fault, and re-setting the limits properly takes minutes. If the door is also heavy to lift by hand, the springs are the underlying cause and the limits will only drift again until that is sorted.

Can you get remotes for an older Superlift?

Usually, yes. Being a local brand helps here — compatible remotes for the common RDO and SDO units are readily available, and we code them to your opener during the visit. We can also wipe a lost remote from the unit's memory so it no longer opens your door.

Is a Superlift a good replacement motor?

It is one of the units we fit, yes, mainly for parts availability and local support rather than any single feature. What matters more than the badge is that the motor is rated for your door's weight and type — a well-chosen opener on a balanced door outlasts a premium one fighting a bad spring.

How long does a Superlift opener last?

Ten to fifteen years is normal, and we see plenty older than that still running. What shortens it is almost always the door rather than the motor: an unbalanced door means the drive is lifting weight the springs should be carrying, and gears and capacitors go early as a result.

Superlift is headquartered in Western Australia and has been supplying openers here for more than three decades. That local presence is exactly why it is on so many Perth garages: installers stock it, parts come from around the corner rather than interstate, and a fifteen-year-old unit is still supportable in a way an imported brand of the same age is often not.

The two ranges cover most of what we see. The RDO roller openers sit beside the drum on a roller door and are the volume product; the SDO sectional units run the rail above a panel-lift door and also handle tilt doors. Both are straightforward, serviceable motors with no unusual mechanical tricks — which is a compliment.

Faults follow the same pattern as any opener in this climate. Travel and force limits drift, so a door starts stopping short or pressing too hard at the floor. Capacitors and gear kits wear on a motor that has been fighting a door with tired springs. Choosing the next opener

A new motor is sized to your door: roller, sectional or tilt, and how heavy it is. Most people end up with a belt drive for the quiet running, and most current units can be run from a phone as well as a remote. We take the old motor away.

Before it goes up, the door is balanced by hand. An opener dragging a badly tensioned door burns out early, so the springs get sorted first.
