Is It Worth Repairing, or Time for a New Door?
Weigh the door, not just the broken part. When the panels are straight, the tracks are sound and one thing has failed, such as a spring, a cable or the opener, fixing that part is almost always the cheaper path. When the door is rusting through, has already had several repairs, or has dents across more than one section, the money is usually better spent on a replacement than on another round of fixes.
A new door is priced mostly by its type and width. A plain roller or sectional door is the lower band; insulated, timber-look, custom-sized and commercial doors sit higher, and an opener adds to the total. Ask whether a quote covers taking away the old door, fitting, connecting the opener and a safety test, so you are comparing whole jobs. To pin down the figure for your own door, request a quote and we will confirm it on site before any work.
